PHYSICS 12 UNIT 2 - Newtons Laws, Weight, Friction
This unit looks at time speed distance and acceleration and allows us to calculate how fast Evel needs to go to land his jump! The difference between the Physics 11 unit on kinematics is the addition of more difficult 2-D problems.
Resources
Student Formula Sheet blank graph paper
Worksheet 1 Worksheet 1 Solutions
Gov Problems Gov Problems Solutions
U2 Practice Test from November you are using for review
Assignments
1. Complete the worksheets using the videos, keys, in class lectures, posted slides, and peers
2. You need to write two quizzes, ask for them when you are ready. You will write one test at the end of the unit (the end of most units)
All quizzes and tests will be open book, on your own, no internet connection
3. Labs
a) Lab on Acceleration looking at how acceleration changes with a varying net force.
b) Lab on Friction, looking at the coefficient of friction and how it changes.
Friction lab
Friction lab theory
4. Demos. We may look at or discuss some instances of large accelerations on humans.
